Jay Shapiro, the owner and CEO graduated college in 1991 from SUNY with a passion for computers. I have worked at most major brokerage houses such as Kidder Peabody, Bear Stearns, Citibank, Painewebber and UBS over the last 20 years.
In December 1998 I started this 'side business' while gainfully employed. I put in 14 hour days to keep both things going.
December (my lucky month) 2007 I got laid off from UBS due to the downturn in the sub-prime mortgage market. When I walked out that door I said to myself now is a good time to continue my 'side business' to see what I can turn it into.
12 years later I am still working for myself, which I will admit is harder than a 9 to 5 job. I truly enjoy satisfying the customer and do whatever it takes!
